Coincidence? I Think Not!
July 28, 2007 by Cass
I had a house full of friends and a yard full of kids run amok yesterday. Tricia, my friend who graciously produced my fine fine loverly Tuscany shawl with her own two hands was here, working on another Tuscany.
Here’s mine:
And here she is working on another:
That’s a pattern from No Sheep For You, FYI.
And while my knitting moms were here, I got 2 packages in the mail. First of all, I won a contest at the Knit One, Tea Too swap. And the prize was this very sweetly personalized package-
That’s Cornucopia from Kollage Yarns. Made from 100% corn fibers. It’s so light and soft!
So I was muy excited, to say the least. Not to mention I got to make my friends jealous, which is always large fun.
THEN- here’s where the coincidence smacks you in the face- I got my Yarn Junkies swap box. This month was pink. Here’s what I found in the box:
Is that cool or what? It’s like Chan and Heather were in cahoots or something. And I adore brown & pink together! Lucky me. Heather also made these gorgeous stitch markers:
Here’s 2 close-ups of the yarns- the color isn’t accurate, but I wanted you to see the chain construction of the fiber:
I can’t wait to find the perfect pattern for these yarns. I went to the Kollage Yarns website to peek at patterns, but (and this will be quite indelicate of me to say) their model is so odd looking that I couldn’t really concentrate on the patterns. (There, now you know me for the true bitch that I am. Judge me if you must. I make no apologies for my crass self.)
So now I have more phenomenal yarns to play with. Happy me! Today we’re headed to the Belle Chere festival in Asheville. I’m excited to go be among my peeps. I’m certain I’ll slip away to visit Purl’s Yarn shop, just to smell some yarn.
Great packages!!!! That is wild! @ Kollage yarn! :op
The stitch markers are stinking cute!
And the soap looks fun! Could you give us the website for the soap?
Thx!
What a bunch of fun stuff–You spoiled brat, you!! :o) I was just sitting here debating about signing up for two more swaps, and then I see all your goodies! I think you’ve convinced me!
Have a fun day. Once again, I find myself wishing that I was going with you!!
ROTFL!!! I’m so glad to know that I’m not the only one that thinks that their model pictures are…umm…odd.
Kollage yarns is about a 45 minute drive from me and my LYS carries lots of their stuff since they’re a local company. That’s where I get most of the goodies that I send to Sharon.
Enjoy all your goodies and have a great day!
Oh, I agree with you about the model. Congrats on your surprise packages!
One of my favorite things about your blog is the catty style of writing, please don’t ever change! Also it helps assuage my own bitch-guilt.
Pink and brown! Two of my favorite colors… Can’t wait to see what you come up with. Can’t wait to try that tote pattern of yours… Geeze woman! I go away for a week and miss everything!!!!
